Have you heard this expression – it’s ok not to be ok ?
We use it often in Australia, to let people know they’re not alone if they’re struggling and not feeling themselves, specifically mentally.
We all go through ups and downs in life.
To know it’s ok, that we’re not alone and that it will pass, is essential for our wellbeing.
We’re all human, and especially during these times of Covid, we’ve got to remember, that it’s ok not to be ok sometimes.
I shared a post not long ago on social media, how I was struggling to stay my usual positive self for a few weeks.
It’s here if you missed it >> Insta Post
Covid certainly has changed life for us all in some way shape or form.
We all have different situations to deal with and different ways of coping.
At the time I wrote that post, there were many things going on for me and I found myself feeling anxious and overwhelmed.
During that time I realised that I’d drifted away from a few of my key self care habits.
I know from past moments in my life, for me to stay in a positive state of mind, it’s important for me to have those habits in place.
Today I want to share some of these things with you.
What can send me off balance are …
🔹when I’m tired and lacking sleep
🔹when I’m hormonal.
🔹when I take on too much and over do things
🔹when I’m not exercising enough
🔹 when my diet isn’t as healthy – eating more sugar and processed foods
🔹 when I’m not feeding my mind enough with good positive things, from podcasts or books etc
🔹when I’m not taking time for me and practicing self care even just some down time
🔹when I don’t keep up a regular meditation / Pilates/ yoga or relaxation techniques of some kind
🔹when I’m not in touch with good friends and family to express myself
🔹When I watch too much news or read too many negative things
🔹 when I’m forgetting to laugh or play in life
🔹when I’m forgetting to be grateful
How aware are you of how your habits effect your moods ?
Have I missed any important ones that can cause us to feel off kilter?
Let me know in the comments below this post, I’d love to hear form you.

What we resist persists
I was a shy girl growing up, and never enjoyed public speaking. There were times where I was more confident, eg around some of my close peers, but the confidence seemed to come and go, depending on the situation.I often used to wonder why anyone would be interested in...

Thank you for sharing Emma, and for starting this beautiful community which now has a life on its own, members are fantastic and it feels like family and a safe space to share. I have been absent recently for mostly the reasons you highlights above…after a fast-paced 2020 (don’t asked me how/why a lot of great stuff happened for me) I finally hit a wall and need to re-set. And you are helping do just that, so THANK YOU.
I missed our time at the Sydney studio and I wish we will have opportunities to reconnect in real-life. Until then I TRULY enjoy the class as regularly as I can, love, Sandrine
Thank you so much for your beautiful message Sandrine. I really appreciate you sharing. Sorry to hear you’ve had lots going on too. I completely understand and we all take breaks sometimes, that’s life. It’s true sometimes we need to hit a bit of a low to bounce back up again. Oh we had a great time in Sydney didn’t we!! I hope we do have some time coming up soon too – a retreat with all the CFC’s would be amazing!! Its true the CFC has a life of it’s own now! It’s THE BEST group ever!! We are so lucky for this space to connect – I agree. Sending you so much love and take good care of you. Get some rest xxx
Thanks Emma, I think your words are so true. Looking after basic needs means so much and they do include looking into our fitness, it makes a huge difference.
I know with Covid and being separated from family and dear friends has put strains upon most of us. It’s good to come out and address it.
Now a new day dawns, it’s a bit dismal looking but hopefully the sun will shine later. I’m a real beach lover me, my walks in the sand dust my soul ! (I’ve never thought of it like that ! but it does )
Enjoy your week Emma x
Hi Jeni! Love your post thank you for sharing! “walks in the sand dust my soul” Wow that was beautiful! Yes if we get the self care humming we can usually cope better with things in life. Thanks for understanding …Now a new day dawns… big hug and kiss to you xx
As a menopausal lady I am quite aware when my body is unbalanced. Lack of sleep, ache joints and fatigue, as well as very demanding job, unfortunately take me to look for some extra energy from sweets. Doing Pilates has been helping me to get a bit more of energy, to feel more mobile and to control my mental struggles and stress. Sometimes is hard to find the time to exercise but I have that commitment with myself to exercise because I can feel all the benefits. Also the Core Fit Club group and Emma give me that support and motivation to push myself and do not become lazy.
Thanks for sharing Iva! You do so well with all you manage…that’s ok you’re human with the sweets. I was doing that recently a lot too and to help I switched to fruit…it’s one step in the direction of healthier and still getting your sweet hit! Yes if we move a little, often, it’s the key. Keep up the great training Iva.. you’re an inspiration! Love Em XX
