Focus on the Positive
Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results” – Willie Nelson
Yet we all have negative thoughts and negative experiences in our lives at times.
If we think about negative things, we don’t feel as good and therefore we’re not operating as our best self. Then we may not act or behave in the best way, we may not have the same energy levels, or do the best work we would do if we felt better. We may not be as fun or joyful person to be around, so we may not attract the relationships, experiences or roles we want because of this.
It becomes ripple effect. What we think about becomes stronger and more prominent in our life. So if we are thinking negative things, we see more negative come our way. It’s almost like we are looking out for more of the same things we are thinking. We start to see evidence of our thoughts, so we are actually attracting more negative.
It doesn’t mean the negative doesn’t exist- it must. In life there are always opposites. To have light we must have dark, to have hot we must have cold, to be happy we must know how sad feels, to have good there must be bad and so on.
We will never not have negative thoughts but we can choose which to focus on and give our attention to.
Think of your thoughts like tending to a plant. For the plan to flourish and grow, it must be watered, and tended to.
If you water the positive thoughts means they will grow and flourish.
“If you’re positive you’ll see the opportunities, instead of the obstacles” – Confucius
