Focus on the Positive

Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results” – Willie Nelson
How does thinking positively help us to have a more positive life?

I wrote about this in a Facebook post recently and thought it is a good topic to talk more about.
We all want to feel good and have a positive life.

Yet we all have negative thoughts and negative experiences in our lives at times.

To have the positive life we want, we have to focus more on the positive to feel good in order to attract more good. But how does this actually work?
Positive thoughts epilates online

If we think about negative things, we don’t feel as good and therefore we’re not operating as our best self. Then we may not act or behave in the best way,  we may not have the same energy levels, or do the best work we would do if we felt better. We may not be as fun or joyful person to be around, so we may not attract the relationships, experiences or roles we want because of this.

It becomes ripple effect. What we think about becomes stronger and more prominent in our life. So if we are thinking negative things, we see more negative come our way. It’s almost like we are looking out for more of the same things we are thinking. We start to see evidence of our thoughts, so we are actually attracting more negative.

Like when you say “Don’t think about a blue car” that is all you can think about.
So we want to focus more on the positive, to attract more positive things into our lives.

It doesn’t mean the negative doesn’t exist- it must. In life there are always opposites. To have light we must have dark, to have hot we must have cold, to be happy we must know how sad feels, to have good there must be bad and so on.

We will never not have negative thoughts but we can choose which to focus on and give our attention to.

Think of your thoughts like tending to a plant. For the plan to flourish and grow, it must be watered, and tended to.

If you water the positive thoughts means they will grow and flourish.

Which thoughts will you water more?

Let me know in the comments below if this analogy will help you next time you start to water the negative thoughts instead of the positive?
“If you’re positive you’ll see the opportunities, instead of the obstacles” – Confucius
