Affirmations

We are all guilty of saying negative things about ourselves.

I’m lazy, I’m not smart, I’m not funny ehough, I’m overweight, I’m not pretty, I’m always late, I’m not toned, I’m not a good mother, I’m too short, I’m too skinny, I’m not patient….

The list could go on and on, couldn’t it!

I’m sure you’ve said one of these things at some point in your life. The truth is most of us say these things, or have said one of these things at one point. Unless we change our unconscious thoughts that are regularly putting ourselves down, and speaking negatively to ourselves, we can never truly be happy.

Our unconscious thoughts play a huge role in our happiness, our actions, and how our life plays out for us.

There is truth in the saying, ‘what we think about we get more of’.

This month I want you to pay attention to your self talk. To what you are saying to yourself.

Ask yourself, would you speak to your best friend this way? If not, then why do you speak to yourself this way? Why are you not loving and caring towards yourself? You deserve this respect and love.

Remember perfect does not exist, none of us are perfect nor should we try to be. We all need to forgive ourselves more often, let go more often and to show ourselves more love.

It’s time to be kind and loving to not only those around you but to yourself.

This is where affirmations come in.

Affirmations are are short, powerful statements and suggestions, that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts.

They are you being in conscious control of your thoughts.

When you repeat them often, and believe in them, you can start to make positive changes.

They usually follow the words “I AM….”

So this month I want you to practice saying some positive affirmations to yourself.

Catch yourself if you hear negative thoughts about your body, yourself, your behaviours, instead switch them up and say something loving and positive.

Here are some examples;

  • I am love
  • I am beautiful
  • I am caring
  • I am happy with my body as it is
  • I am enough
  • I am worthy

Place a comment in the comments box below and let me know what you think of this months focus and also place some of your ‘I am’ affirmations you’ll be using during this month!

Lots of love
