Goodbye’s are never easy, but new beginnings are exciting.
After almost a decade living in Malaysia, my husband and are relocating back to Australia.
We’re so grateful for the Asian experience and the amazing memories we will be taking with us.
We’ll miss so much about it; our friends, the culture, the food, the people and the ‘island time’ (laid back) feel.
However it’s now time for us to be closer to family again.
After not seeing them for over 2 years during COVID, and it being harder for them to travel now, the timing is right for us.
I’m originally from Tasmania (the island in the south of Aust), and spent 10+ years living in Sydney, where my husband grew up, and where we both met.
However as we hardly saw a beach for most of the 2 years during Covid lockdown, we’ve decided to settle in the Gold Coast, Queensland, just blocks from the beach.
The weather is warmer there, and it’s a very laid back lifestyle, which we’re both looking forward to.
Needless to say, we’re knee deep in boxes.
One big thing that is breaking my heart though, is leaving Winston (our cat).
Sadly Australia doesn’t allow animals to enter from Malaysia, so we have to adopt him out. 😥
We will miss him so much…
He used to cameo in many of my Core Fit Club Videos, and he was very popular.
Guess he’ll need to make one last video appearance!
Stay tuned for that.
Well to change to a more positive topic….

Hi, u can bring Winston over to Singapore , go thru the quarantine period of 1 month then to Australia. I understand tis arrangement is possible but will be costly! I hope Winston will be reunited with you soon! All the best for your big move!
Thanks for your message and concern Edith. Yes it’s true he could fly via another country and do quarantine. We just felt too bad to do that to him and also it was very costly when we got a quote. He will be going to one of our cat sitters who used to feed him for us and visit him any time we travelled. So he should be in good hands. We know they love him a lot and will take good care of him. Thanks for your kind wishes for our move. Lots of love Em x
Hi Emma,
I’m sorry that you will be leaving KL just before we are due to return, so although I “meet you on the mat” 3 times a week, will not get to meet you in person now! ( I am very pleased for both you and your husband though :o)))
Being a sporty person I never thought I would enjoy Pilates, but joined your (free) classes way back in February 2020 when we were in the first lockdown in KL and living in Jamnah View.
I loved it from the start, especially the cardio classes and those using props. I’m definitely more supple and my core and arms are stronger. I also know that it has helped my back problem, which is a result of injuries incurred doing gymnastics and playing lacrosse, way back in my youth.
I still find the fit ball a bit of a challenge, but am working on that, although perhaps not as much as I should as I prefer the weights and band classes!
I wish you and your husband well on the sunny Gold Coast. What a beautiful part of the world.
I hope you will continue inspiring people on the mat when you return home to Australia.
All the best
Inez
:o))
Hi Inez! Thank you for your lovely message and wishes.
When are you returning to KL? I would love to see you. We go on 25th July.
Well done on doing so many classes with me online! YAY! Makes my day to hear you do them 3 times per week. That is amazing!!
It’s so great to hear that you have had so many results from the classes – thank you for sharing, makes my day to hear this. Sounds like I need to add more weights and band classes for you 😉
I will certainly be doing more classes from Australia, from the beach we will be living near! Hopefully we can see each other in one of my retreats in Asia!
Thanks again for your wishes.
Lots of love Em xx
