Giving, practically, sustainably or with purpose

It’s the season of giving and as much as I love both giving and receiving gifts, I don’t always want to partake in it.

Mostly because I’m doing my best to declutter my house and life these days, and more often than not we receive things we don’t need or that are useful.

In fact I just reminded family, not to include my husband and I in gift buying again this year. For our family it means sending gifts in and out of Malaysia as my family live in Australia.

We will probably have to leave KL one day and we will not be able to keep all our belongings.  I’m also sentimental and find it hard to throw away someone’s gift to me!

However in saying that, when I do buy gifts I like to support either small business, charities, fair trade or not for profits and or give a practical gift or a gift of health..

Shopping small (in small business) is a great initiative, where we know any purchased we make has an actual person at the other end doing a happy dance.

Shopping sustainably, or supporting a not for profit or fair trade business is also wonderful to know where your money is going and who you are supporting in your purchase and that it is doing good.

The gift of health, where we know what we buy is going to enhance someone’s life for the better is always another great choice.

If you’d like some inspiration for gifts of health, be sure to check out the selection of wonderful Gift Vouchers I have on offer >> Gift Vouchers

You can also take the opportunity to purchase a Black Friday special at this link until Tuesday 3rdDecember >>  Black Friday Sales

So what do you think of the practice of gift buying now days?
What do you practice in your family and or culture?

I would love to hear and know your thoughts.

Lots of love
