Give something up

 Give something up

I recently listened to a great podcast which talked about how when we want to add something to our life, we really need to give something up first.

This makes space for the new thing to arrive.

It makes complete sense and if you’re anything like me you sometimes forget this.

I often try to squeeze more into my life and forget to let something else go.

Learning to let go of things, activities, habits, relationships, jobs, food whatever that maybe is essential to make space for the new way of being.

It’s actually a spiritual law; The Law of Sacrifice.

Give something up

This is a great explanation of this concept and you can read more about it here in this blog of John Maxwell.

I’m in the process of simplifying my life in many areas, I’ve been de-cluttering, giving up activities, positions I have held, buying a new lap top etc all because I’m ready to invite new things into my life.

This podcast mentioned that we must give up things, not only to invite more into our life, but so that we can also save time. Keeping unnecessary things, activities, habits etc means we can’t find things as easily, or have the time to do the things we love.

Making space is healthy in so many ways.

How often do you give something up in order to let what you want in?

I challenge you, what can you give up today or at some stage soon, to make space for what you want in your life?

Let me know in the comments below.

Lots of love
